Gorgeous Festival Returns To McLaren Vale

Gorgeous Festival returns in 2012 for their second year with their winning combination of food, wine and music, a new look and competitive ticket prices. The boutique festival returns to the picturesque McLaren Vale in South Australia on the 24th November after the success of their first year.

Founder of Gorgeous Festival and McLaren Vale local, Alistair Cranney says, “South Australia lends itself to festivals due to its beautiful scenery that combines wineries and beaches all within an hour of Adelaide’s airport. The reason I created Gorgeous Festival is to show off the picturesque area of McLaren Vale and showcase the delicious food and wine available. I think it’s important not to just rely on the music scene to make a festival successful but to offer something unique for guests to enjoy. Being from the area it is important to my wife and I to make Gorgeous Festival successful not only for us but for thelocal businesses who have so much to offer all year round.”

Already nine local wineries have confirmed to supply guests with a selection of premium wines from some of the region’s most recognized and award winning cellars and five restaurants will be serving up a delicious menu that rivals a five star restaurant. The success of last year’s festival has shown local businesses of McLaren Vale that Gorgeous Festival has the ability to bring in guests not only from Adelaide but other states, increasing tourism to this beautiful area.

Festival Director Alistair Cranney has also made the decision to decrease the price of tickets in 2012 with general admission tickets going for an affordable $88 + booking fee and for those who like the finer things in life, the VIP Bar tickets are $198 + booking fee. Alistair says, “Many festival goers are struggling to justify ever increasing ticket prices. It’s been my aim this year to decrease ticket prices, ensuring Gorgeous Festival is an affordable day out.”

In 2012 the Gorgeous Festival branding has also had a makeover with the logo and website being redesigned to include all aspects of the festival – music, wine and food.

The on sale ticket date and the 2012 lineup for Gorgeous Festival will be announced early August.
