Hellogoodbye Announce New Album And New Sound
Synthpop turned Indie Pop band Hellogoodbye have announced a new album release called ‘Everything Is Debatable’ which will be available 25th October 2013 courtesy of Shock Records. Shock is definitely the word, we did not see this coming and are most certainly surprised as Hellogoodbye have suddenly sprung back to life! This will be their first studio album since 2010 when they released album ‘Would It Kill You?’.
The band was founded in 2001 by singer Forrest Kline. However, Hellogoodbye did not release their first full-length LP ‘Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!’ until 2006. ‘Here (In Your Arms)’ was the first single to be released from the album and become a huge success as it went platinum in the U.S. and reached Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
However, there is a significant change in the bands musical sound as Billboard points out, there has been “a change of tide for the members of Hellogoodbye separating the California natives from their electro-melodic roots and propelling them into a promising folk-pop future.” But who said change was a bad thing? Reviews on the first single ‘(Everything Is) Debatable’ have been positive, USA Today stated that the first single was “a killer batch of indie pop”. Additionally, Daytrotter comments on Forrest’s performance, “Forrest Kline has some kind of a brilliant eye for these wholly innocent and charming matters of the heart”.
Expect only big things to come out of this album, it looks like their return into the spotlight is going to be a triumph one.
