Jamie xx Releases AA-sided Single

While his band, The xx, is currently playing 25 intimate shows for their biggest fans in New York’s legendary Park Avenue Armory, Grammy-winning producer Jamie XX is still managing to find time to release a brand new AA-sided single.

‘Girl’ and ‘Sleep Sound’ are to be released on Monday 5th May via Young Turks, and for fans of Jamie and The xx, you will not be disappointed. Remaining true to his distinctive sound, Jamie has produced two singles that embody the unique melodies he’s renowned for. With ‘Sleep Sound’, sporadic vocal snippets do anything but distract from the beautifully intricate and constant synth tones – it’s no wonder the song has been listened to 250,000 times already.

Since their 2012 chart-topping album Coexist, The xx is yet to release new music – this is undoubtedly great timing to be reminded of Jamie’s impeccable production abilities and ability to release perfect mood melodies. His first solo release since 2011, Sleep Sound is the ultimate hypnotic beat and if you think the single sounds familiar, it’s because Jamie previewed it back in 2013 on BBC’s Radio 6Mix.
