July At White Rabbit

A simple walk from the central bus station on George Street will transport you to the world of contemporary Chinese art. White Rabbit is a privately run gallery hosting a collecction of some of China’s best contemporary art, but all for free.

The collections change every six months and work is constantly being bought to keep the best in China’s modern art scene coming through. There’s also a wonderful little Chinease tea shop that serves good snacks and an array of hot tea and coffee.

See what White Rabbit has on this month below:

Down the Rabbit Hole:
It’s your last chance to venture down the Rabbit Hole as the exhibit is closed from Aug. 6 to Sept. 6 inclusive. Like all wonderful things, the current exhibition has to end. Its final day is Sunday, August 5, after which the Gallery will remain closed for a month while we install a new show-title to be announced. White Rabbit will reopen with flourish on Friday, September 7.

July At White RabbitChinese Movies to the Max:
Every Sunday in July, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

What better way to spend a wintry Sunday than watching movies? White Rabbit’s Chinese movie feast last month was so popular that they’re extending it through July. Every Sunday, they run two cinema sessions, each with a different feature. The films are surprises however, but rest assured White Rabbit know their Chinese cinema.

July At White RabbitSuper Saturday
Saturday, 7 July, 2.30-3.30 p.m.
Children and parents love White Rabbits’ Saturday afternoons of art-based activities, which range from interactive stories to kids’-eye-view tours of the gallery. Numbers are limited, so make sure you bookahead with number of children and ages (4 to 10 only) to [email protected].

July At White RabbitBook Club: China Airborne
