Live Review: Fred Perry Subsonic Live – King Krule & Ghostpoet At The Garage, London
King Krule put on a brilliant performance at Islington’s The Garage. Taking to the stage in a whacky shirt highly reminiscent of The Fresh Prince, his signature baritone filled the space at the Fred Perry Subsonic sponsored event.
The space was packed, and what can be said of the boyish looking King Krule, is that his voice simply booms and juxtaposed with the light hearted syncopated guitar rhythms this is most certainly an act you don’t want to miss if you happen to be heading to Field Day or Melt Festival this summer.
After a successful gig, it was time to move to the smaller room where Ghostpoet put on a set that went down a storm mixing classic Garage with newer stuff, by then he was playing to a drink fuelled crowed who were ready to dance the rest of their Thursday night away and kick off the Easter long weekend with a hangover.
Fred Perry Subsonic looks to promote the best in new music, and if this event was anything to go by, we’d thoroughly recommend the next one, so keep your ears to the ground and be sure to keep up with the best events coming up in London at here.
