There’s nowhere better to spend summer than at good beaches. One of those beaches is Lucky Bay, located in the town of Esperance, approximately 728 km from state capital Perth, which makes it an ideal destination to escape the whirlwind.
Considered Australia’s whitest beach with its spotless sand and crystal clear water perfect for swimming and other water sports such as diving and surfing, Lucky Bay stands out along the coast of Cape Le Grand National Park in Esperance. The beach has everything you need to relax: a quiet ambiance that many other beaches start to lose.

A favourite among tourists is the sight of kangaroos relaxing along the sand. Another display of wildlife that you can see in the area is migrating whales, often seen between July and October. Explore further and you’ll find that more surprises await, such as walking tracks around the bay, all offering breathtaking views of the Recherche Archipelago.
When it comes to accommodation, you don’t need to worry about having to stay too far from the beach. Caravans and campgrounds are available around the area, all with picnic and barbecue areas, kitchens, and toilets. After a sunny day at the beach, there’s nothing better than resting under the stars with the sound of seawaves nearby!
Eager to go? There are daily flights to Esperance out of Perth Airport, but if you’re up for some interesting road trip there are also Transwa buses offering return journeys from Perth. Either way, don’t hesitate to escape the hectic life in the city and find your perfect paradise at Lucky Bay.
