Martha Wainwright Announced for This Year’s SummerTyne Americana Festival
Performing with special guest Sam Amidom, Martha Wainwright has been announced for the SummerTyne Americana Festival at The Sage in Gateshead.
The two most powerful folk-Americana voices will come together at the festival, which takes place over three days from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st July 2013.
On Friday 19th July, The Mavericks, Patty Griffin, Matthew E. White and The McCrary sisters will be on stage.
On the Saturday, Martha Wainwright, Honky Tonk Angels, Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys and Sam Amidon will perform.
The Heritage Blues Orchestra, Mud Morganfield, Shelby Lynee, Willy Mason, Vera Van Heeringen, Dan Walsh and The Kentucky Cowtippers will conclude the weekend’s festivities.
The festival offers a mix of American roots music, classic country and blues and the newest southern soul and Americana.
There will be a free outdoor stage bill including The David Max Museum and Polly & The Billets Doux.
