Masta Ace at The Epsy
Legendary Brooklyn MC Masta Ace is returning to Melbourne’s Espy Gershwin Room on Sunday 9th June 2013.
Having made a name for himself as a member of both Marley Marl’s Juice Crew and Crooklyn Dodgers, as well as forming groups Masta Ace Incorporated and eMC, Masta Ace has achieved 25 years in the business with eight full-length critically acclaimed albums.
His first solo material came with 90s album ‘Take A Look Around’, releasing singles ‘Me & The Biz’ and ‘Music Man’. He has become well known for producing concept albums, such as 2001’s ‘Disposable Arts’, which tells the story of a young Brooklyn man’s release from prison, 2004’s ‘A Long Hot Summer’, which describes underground rapper Ace’s summer in Brooklyn and 2012’s ‘MA Doom: Son Of Yvonne’, which tells the story of Masta Ace’s upbringing, dedicated to his mother.
2013 sees the return of Masta Ace following his two previous successful Australian tours, bringing fellow eMC member Stricklin and renowned producer Marco Polo along for the ride!
