Paolo Nutini Australia and New Zealand 2015 Tour
Paolo Nutini is back! And he’s touring Australia and New Zealand in March and April 2015. We’ve been somewhat deprived of his loveable Scots lilt, Paolo not appearing in Australia since touring for his previous album ‘Sunny Side Up’ in 2009. But now the man who brought us classic make out songs ‘Last Request’ and ‘Jenny Don’t Be Hasty’ is back with a new album, ‘Caustic Love’.
With any distinguishing sound like Paolo’s, a third album can be at risk of becoming stale. But each track on ‘Caustic Love’ is thoughtfully produced, remaining unique whilst sustaining that same bluesy funk the fans loved from his first album. Caustic Love echoes back to classic R ‘n’ B artists Marvin Gaye and Otis Reading, bringing in an array of impressive collaboration with the likes of Rollo Armstrong from Faithless, Barrie Cadogan from Primal Scream and Janelle Monáe, guest vocalist on Fun’s ‘We Are Young’.
Paolo Nutini sold out his last shows in Australia, but took time out “to reconnect with family and friends. It only takes going home for a little while to put things in perspective”. Tickets to next year’s shows will be available on Frontier Members pre-sale Tuesday 18th-Wednesday 19th November, and on sale to the general public from Friday 21st November 2014, 12pm Australia/10am New Zealand.
If you liked what Paolo Nutini had to offer before, there is now doubt you’ll love his new material. Adele described this performance of ‘Iron Sky’ at Abbey Road Studios as “one of the best things I’ve ever seen in my life”. Now that’s got to make you at least a little curious.
