Purdy’s Latest Track ‘Bye Bye Love’
Growing up in a cottage, on land owned by Ian Flemming, the author of the James Bond books, Purdy’s incredible talent emerged when she started writing her own songs at the age of 11, using two cassette players and swapping over the tapes to create harmonies with her voice. She is now taking over the music scene with her slinky and exciting style which she has carved and developed over the years.
Influenced by the likes of Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, Damien Rice and more, Purdy’s passion and endless desire to express her feelings through music has given her a sleek sting that shines has excited international audiences with her distinctive vocals.
Her latest track Bye Bye Love, out March 23rd 2015, has been described by Andy Wright (Simple Minds, Imelda May, Jeff Beck) as ‘one of the most exciting sounds I’ve heard in years’ and we couldn’t agree more. With her poetic and feminine charm, Purdy makes this track stand out from the rest with her own personal edge.
Her brilliant singles and Diamond debut album have not only impressed thousands of inspired audiences, but have been supported by Radio 6, Record of the Day, Blues and Soul, Music Week, GigWise, I Luv Live & BBC London.
Described as ‘one of her proudest moments’, Purdy stood in front of 95, 000 people at Wembley, performing the Remembrance songshe wrote with James Pearson of Ronnie Scott’s. She has also stunned audiences at F1 events and The London Lifestyle Awards, singing for the likes of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Mick Jagger.
As if she couldn’t get any better, she was also a recent guest singer on Richard Branson’s Necker Island, where she supported the one and only Lana Del Rey.
We will definitely be keeping an eye out for Purdy and brace ourselves for what she is going to gift us with next! No doubt we will be seeing her at some of her upcoming shows between February and July!
