Ocean Safari begins at Cape Tribulation Beach where guests board the 700hp inflatable boat bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After a fast 25-minute ride, you arrive at Mackay and Undine Reefs for two hours of snorkelling. On most days, the rainforest can be seen on the mainland beach while you swim alongside sea turtles – which are found in abundance swimming silently over these reefs of colourful coral – and myriads of tropical fish, eagle rays, giant clams and starfish. With all of the residents of the Great Barrier Reef in plain sight, it’s clear to see how fragile and precious this eco-system really is.
