RESET ROBOT RELEASES NEW COLLABORATION & SHARES HIS PLANS FOR A SECRET NEW ALIAS Producer, engineer and DJ extraordinaire Reset Robot is the alias of Dave Robertson, an accomplished artist based in Portsmouth on the south coast of the UK. Since launching the pseudonym in 2009 he has travelled the globe, DJing at many of the world’s most influential clubs and festivals, as well as rolling out a slew of well-received productions on labels such as Drumcode, Mobilee, Hotflush and his own platform Whistleblower Records.

As a DJ Reset Robot’s unassuming approach belies his magnetic appeal and innate ability to craft sets that are polished, enthralling and full of shadowy allure. A self-confessed studio hound, he spends all day, every day at the controls, allowing creativity to flow out of him and refining his skills. Two decades of experience feed into his output, and he prefers to keep things uncomplicated in the studio. The resultant sound is his signature; brooding, sombre, yet accessible and contagious.

What is unique about the place you live, or is it famous for something?

I live in Southsea, Portsmouth. What is unique about this place? I would say that the historic parts of Portsmouth are quite unique. The historic dockyard where they have the Mary Rose, Warrior and Victory ships.

Through lockdown, what has been your favourite thing to do at the weekend?

We started off treating the weekends as a normal weekend. We’d chat with friends online and have a few drinks but after a while it was all blurring into one period of time and the weekends didn’t exist anymore.

Have you visited any wicked local glamping or wild sites throughout the summer?

We didn’t go out that much to be honest. We’d have a walk down to the seafront in Southsea most days but that’s about it.

I can make a mean pizza and I bake sourdough bread.

Favourite Friday night dinner at home or restaurant?

I love curry. I’ve been making this amazing Mango and Paneer curry recently. It’s so simple but probably one of the most delicious curries I’ve made at home.

What current projects are you working on?

I’m working on loads of new music all the time. I’m releasing under Reset Robot and I’ve also started a new alias but I’m going to let people work that out on their own this time.
