Review: Fortay & Avant Garde – Summer Rooftop Closing Party
The sun was holding out for the rooftop vibes of the Prince of Wales, formerly known as the Brixton Clubhouse on Saturday afternoon. The smell of smokey barbecues and the sounds of Deep House beats could be smelt and heard as you entered the never ending staircase to the rooftop party.
On entry, the early starters were making the most of the vast space on the rooftop. The louder, Techy sounds were real crowd pleasers downstairs in the smaller room where hands were high in the air, well before the 7pm crowds arrived.
The venue and the vibe were both perfect for a closing party, with both chilled areas and then the busier dancefloors.
The only issues were the sound levels on the roof where the limits of the bass were definitely too low for a party of its size. Also, with tickets sold out well in advance of the event, a few more hands to provide the thirsty crowds with ice cold pints wouldnt have been frowned upon.
A very exciting mix of players, taking on the decks with the better known names of Noir and DeMarzo with the upcoming names of Jedd Barry & Chris Solo, Will Taylor b2b Connor Benson and Dankoss to name but a few.
A great way to wave goodbye to those summer skies and get cosy with the deeper sounds of winter, as they sweep through the city of London.
