Santigold Announces New Album 99 Cents
’99 Cents’ is the third offering from the electronic powerhouse that is Santigold, an artist who isn’t afraid of pushing the boundaries.
Released in January, ’99 Cents’ has been described as a musical commentary on society, culture and the way we live now. Even the cover art makes a statement, with acclaimed photographer Haruhiko Kawaguchi shooting Santigold in shrink wrap.
Born Santi White, Santigold first captivated listeners in 2008 with bold lyrics and her ability to flawlessly mix different musical genres. Her unique style scored her a No 1 on the US dance charts with second album ‘Master Of My Make-Believe’.
99 Cents sees Santigold collaborating with familiar faces alongside some new friends, including Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij.
The album features Santigold’s trademark fearlessness as she shows off her incredible vocals and explores her passion for music. Standout out single ‘Can’t Get Enough Of Myself’ is a fast paced pop song that will be perfect for cheering you up come the new year. Check it out below…
