Single Review: Sam Smith – Money on my mind (MK Remix)

Remixing can be a bit of a gamble for artists when it comes to popular songs. Trying to find a balance between keeping the song recognisable and true to its sound, while attempting to put your own original twist to the song, can prove difficult. So when you want to get it done right, you go to someone who has had over 20 years experience in the field. You go to someone who has worked continuously with international stars including Snoop Dogg, Rhianna, Jay Z, Ne-yo and Beyonce. You go to someone like Marc ‘MK’ Kinchen.

LA based Songwriter/Producer MK has produced a refined and entertaining remix of Sam Smith’s single ‘Money On My Mind’ which will help broaden the song’s appeal to Dance music fans. MK has captured the fundamental elements of ‘Money On My Mind’ along with Sam Smith’s eclectic vocal range and has arranged them perfectly with his own signature rhythms and piano melodies to put his own stamp on the song.

MK’s remix of ‘Money On My Mind’ will be featured on Sam Smiths EP which is set to be released on 16th February 2014 via Capitol Records.
