The 18-year-old singer-songwriter SOAK aka Bridie Monds-Watson, has been drawing comparisons to Emmy the Great with her gently raspy vocals. SOAK’s raw voice takes on a folk edge, with a poetic lyricism and teenage insight. Scottish band CHVRCHES have signed her up to their label, Goodbye Records, and she has previously toured with George Ezra.
Now, SOAK has premiered the video for latest single ‘Reckless Behaviour’, taken from her beautiful debut album ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream’.
The video takes place in a mental hospital beautifully portraying the relationship between two contrasting patients. The way they can relate in a manner that transcends their difference in age or their backgrounds lifts the disheartening atmosphere. The video for ‘Reckless Behaviour’ emphasises the conversation on mental health for young people in Ireland. “Those connections between people,” says director Bob Gallagher, “are what help you to get well and stay healthy, so I hope the video goes some way towards illustrating that.”
Currently on an extensive European headline tour, SOAK returns to Australia in January 2016 with shows in Melbourne, Sydney, and at Falls Festival and Southbound.
