The Opera House 40th Anniversary Concert
This event really is unlike any other in the world, and takes place in a venue revered around the globe. Thousands are expected to attend the famous recreation of the 1973 concert under the stars on the Opera House Forecourt. The beautiful scenery and atmosphere will add to the magic of the performance of artists celebrating the life of the Opera House and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. Whether you’re a fan of classical music or simply want to be part of a major Sydney event, you won’t want to miss this on Sunday 27th October.

Sydney Blues & Roots Festival 2013
Australia’s favourite bands are joined by a sprinkling of international artists for the fifth festival of Soul, Blues and Folk. From 24th-27th October you can relax on the campsite, ale in hand and soak up the atmosphere. The fastest growing music festival in Australia is spread across a number of venues, so you’re bound to meet some memorable people! Line-up is better than ever and includes the well-known Chris Wilson, DIESEL and Russell Morris.

The 9th Annual Australian Beer Festival
Sydney will be welcoming the Annual Australian Beer Festival from 18th-20th October for beer lovers across the country. The Australian Heritage Hotel on the corner of Cumberland Street is sure to be rammed as Gloucester Street closes for the weekend of beer tasting, brewing sessions and live entertainment. Expect to taste some of the best ales, ciders and lagers and, of course, the renowned gourmet pizza. It’s best to buy tickets early as there will be lengthy queues of people flocking to Sydney for the specially created festival.

Primavera 2013: Young Australian Artists
Back for its 22nd year(!) this unique art exhibition showcases the best in innovative and bold artists and performers. Eight artists from Perth, Melbourne and Sydney will fascinate the MCA with their original works that set the bar high for contemporary art. Central themes to the exhibition include an investigation into romantic and familial relationships and the role of language in the shaping of the self – deep concepts that will be presented across paintings, photography, installations and performance. In addition to this artistic feast are further bodies of work that surprise and spark reactions from visitors. Admission is free for the duration of October.

GRAPHIC 2013 Festival
This incredible weekend of music, animation and storytelling is set to be the best yet, with showcases from the legends of the pop, print and pixel worlds. The art festival will have very special features, including an opening from Seth Green (Family Guy) and friends in ‘Robot Chicken Live’. The line-up also includes the talents of renowned Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi, the visionary multimedia artist Claudio Sinatti (X-Men, Superman) and many other guests. The fourth GRAPHIC Festival will be taking place from 4th-7th October 2013.
