The Blackchords Return To Melbourne
Melbourne’s Blackchords are back after a long hiatus, to showcase material from their second album, at the Pheonix Public House.
It’s been a long road since the release of the band’s debut album in 2009 to where Blackchords are right now – preparing to release the first new material in a couple of years and the band are very excited about doing so!
Having just recorded their second album in the Yarra Valley with Mercury Prize nominated and Grammy Award winning producer/mixer, David Odlum (former guitarist with Irish band The Frames, producer- The Frames, Gemma Hayes,
Luka Bloom, Josh Ritter) at the helm, the band have produced a thoroughly international sounding album to be proud of!
After raising the funds for recording through crowd & fan funding website Pozible which proved to the band that their fans were keen to help and pledge their support, they raised half of the recording costs for the album and are now ready to showcase the new material to Melbourne audiences.
With the new album due for release in August, a brand spanking new single ‘Dance, Dance, Dance’ only weeks away, the band have been itching to hit the stage again and will be doing so to showcase the new material at the Pheonix Public House on Saturday April 14th with the help of the wonderful Melbourne band Pony Face and special guest to be announced soon.
