The Brand New Heavies Australian East Coast Tour
British soul funk pioneers The Brand New Heavies return to Australia for their East Coast Tour, following sell out shows in Melbourne and Sydney in 2010.
These shows will mark the band’s milestone 21st birthday and see The Brand New Heavies playing intimate venues in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
All four original members – Simon Bartholomew (guitar), Jan Kincaid (drums), Andrew Levy (bass) and of course fan favourite lead singer N’Dea Davenport – will be in attendance for these very special performances.
In 1990, the Heavies found its voice with the addition of lead singer N’Dea Davenport, who was introduced to the band via their US label, Delicious Vinyl.
It didn’t take long for the group to score a US No. 3 R&B hit with ‘Never Stop’, a highlight from its self-titled debut album, while their second album Heavy Rhyme Experience: Vol. 1, saw them paired with pioneering hip-hop artists like Grand Puba, Kool G. Rap and Gang Starr’s Guru, among others.
In 2005 and after a decade apart, the original Heavies reformed after a chance meeting in New York.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join the band’s 21st birthday celebrations when they tour Australia this September!
