Whilst the slow demise from summer to autumn is certainly no laughing matter, the annual Australia Comedy Festival will be hitting Oz to brighten your mood and put a jolly spring in your step!
The biggest and best comedians from across the world will be descending on Australia’s biggest cities of Melbourne, Perth and Sydney for four weeks of non-stop laughter, all kicking off at the end of March in the capital of Victoria.
The shows begin in Melbourne on 23rd March and runs until 17th April with a jam-packed itinerary before heading to Western Australia. Once the tour hits the capital of WA – Perth, every local venue will be taken over from 22nd April to the 15th May for comedy gigs showcasing local and international talent. The festival will also be on the road and cross the breadth of Australia to Sydney from 18th April – 15th May where it will make its triumphant finale after what’s sure to be an all-round fun-filled celebration of the comedy world!
The festival will be taking over various venues of all shapes and sizes across these three big Aussie cities and transforming them from hotels, town halls and arts centres into packed-out auditoriums. The gigs will be complete with an animated crowd and a lively atmosphere for some spectacular comedy shows.
Expect a star-studded line-up showcasing fresh material from the likes of Ross Noble, Daniel Sloss, David O’Doherty, Luisa Omielan and plenty more international and Australia-bred A-list acts guaranteed to get the whole of Australia roaring with laughter!
Craig Hill
On the back of Craig Hill’s successful sold-out tours last year, Craig will be taking to Australia with his no-holds-barred style of comedy, delivered in his gloriously camp manner that has won over audiences worldwide. Be sure to catch Craig on his ‘Playing with my Selfie’ tour at The Comedy Store in Sydney and Perth.
Andrew Maxwell
Ireland’s own Andrew Maxwell is back in Australia with his new show ‘Yo Contraire’, which is the latest from the young comedian who makes audiences laugh with his satirical mocking of international news stories. He was the only person to tackle the Scottish Referendum head-on last year and this year will see him broach even more controversial topics! Don’t miss him at the Perth and Sydney Comedy Festivals in April and May.

Daniel Sloss
Scotland’s internationally acclaimed and award-winnig comedian Daniel Sloss will be making his debut appearance at Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2016 with his hit new show, ‘Dark’. Despite Sloss only being the tender age of 24, he has been writing and performing stand up ever since he was 16, and continues to go from strength to strength and taking his dry wit to an international level. Catch him in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in the upcoming months!
Sarah Callaghan
Exciting times are definitely ahead for this young female comedian as she has been spotted over the past couple of years as one to watch out for in the comedy world. 2015 saw her critically-acclaimed debut hour show ‘Elephant’ pack out theatres at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, make sure you don’t miss her in Sydney and Perth.
