The Lumineers Announce New Album And UK Tour
In 2011, nine years after their fruition, The Lumineers leapt into the public eye with their hugely popular single, ‘Ho Hey’. Now, the band have delighted fans with the announcement of their second album, ‘Cleopatra’, as well as an upcoming UK headline tour.
After three years spent on the road, the Denver trio have also released lead single, ‘Ophelia’, to mark the declaration. The band’s sophomore release was recorded with aide from Simone Felice in the Rhinebeck (NY) hills, a location near to where the Woodstock festival is held.
Between albums the Grammy-nominated ensemble wrote two songs for the Hunger Games franchise, travelled around six different continents, and had one of their tracks selected on President Barack Obama’s Spotify playlist in the form of ‘Stubborn Love’. The band, who got their name after they were mistakenly called The Lumineers at a gig (one of the other bands playing were named Lumineers, while the current Lumineers were playing under the title of Wesley Jeremiah), will release ‘Cleopatra’ on 8th April.
A UK tour will also take place in April to mark the release, which will see the band travel to Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester and London, making a return to the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire at the latter.
