The Morrison Bar Oyster Festival 1st-31st August 2013
This month we searched for a unique festival that is sure to whet our appetite and keep us entertained. Oyster lovers will be pleased to know that we found The Morrison Oyster Festival, hosted by Sydney’s famous oyster bar. The month-long August festival promises sophistication and of course, really good oysters!
But the fun doesn’t end with just oyster tasting, as visitors can join in the action with ‘Shuck Me Silly’ on Tuesday 6th and 20th August to hone in on their shucking skills. Although the workshop costs $69 you will leave with shucking skills for life (!) and a tasting menu of a dozen oysters matched specifically with wine, champagne, cocktails or oyster stout.
The food at the festival is incredible with the daily Oyster Hour from 6-7pm, where tasty oysters are available for $1 a pop! The tantalising menu offers world-class dishes, including the beautiful carpetbag steak that reveals delicate oysters on the inside of the steak.
‘Oyster-Love In’ will be the perfect event for those who simply have a passion for oysters, as the finest oyster farmers in New South Wales will join the chef to talk about finding perfect oysters and why this little treat is the number one aphrodisiac. Alongside the conversation will be a four-course dinner with wine on Tuesday 13th August for $99. This festival is sure to be a winner for anyone who has an appetite for oysters, or is even a little curious.
