This Week’s Weirdest Music Video: Sir. O

Now then, we’re all for creativity and unique ideas, but Sir. O’s music video for ‘Someone You’re Thinking Of’ is just a little bit too odd.

The video begins with someone drawing a thought bubble, which then glides (not very smoothly, mind) to the next scene where a man stands below the thought bubble. A simple animation plays inside the bubble, which is fine, but it’s the inclusion of four people who just stand there one at a time, underneath the thought bubble, each with a different expression that’s really baffling – and distracting.

They are the four most unlikely people to be in a music video too. There is an extremely happy woman (scarily so!), a curly haired rocker who looks so upset it’s alarming, a moody, thoughtful young man (possibly Sir.O himself) and a bald, middle-aged man who catches sight of something he likes in the bottom left corner, licking his lips and making sexy eyes as he does. It’s just weird.

The video is supposed to be cute and lovely, about love and stuff, but it doesn’t translate well when there are people staring outwards making weird facial expressions at you!

Well done for trying Sir.O, it caught our attention, but not necessarily for the right reasons.
