Twilight Hawkers Markets Summer 2012

Friday nights in the city are set to burst into diverse culinary life as the City of Perth launches the summer series of Twilight Hawkers Markets in Forrest Place. Glorious mouth-watering smells originating from across the globe are set to drift through the streets from Friday 16 November. A permanent fixture every week until 26 April 2013,the Markets will take place every Friday between 5pm and 9pm, with a short break over the Christmas period.

Taking advantage of Australia’s famous summer climate, the Twilight Hawkers Markets will offer visitors to the city the chance to wander through rows of market stalls. Sample authentic cuisine from around the globe including Chilean pies, Angolan gluten free food, Korean rice plates, deep Southern Cajun tastes from Louisiana & Latin flavoured corn on the cob. Plus there will be the usual favourites including paella, empanadas, satays, hot donuts, Japanese pancakes & delicious churros.

Why not try some dude food or soul food; everything is cooked with passion. The Twilight Hawkers Markets has something for everyone and is the place to be on a Friday night for catching up after work, grabbing a quick bite pre-show or heading into town with the kids.

In addition to international street-vendor style foods, visitors to the Markets will be able to kick back and enjoy free live music and roving entertainment.

Plus the magic of the City of Perth Festival of Christmas’ launch will be on the same night with the ‘Turning on of the Lights’. Sample delicious food and enjoy the colour of Christmas as Santa and the Lord Mayor flick the switch on the City of Perth’s 100,000 Christmas lights and decorations.
