
Due West: Immersive Arts Festival Reveals Final Program For 2017
Melbourne’s Due West: Immersive Arts Festival, which is set to run from 10th – 27th August, has revealed its final line-up, showcasing local creatives, organisations and venues in Melbourne’s inner west.
Formed out of a partnership between the City of Maribyrnong and the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria, the new festival invites art-lovers and culture-vultures of all ages to participate, engage and interact with art across multi art-forms; often in unexpected locations.
Acts previously announced program includes ‘A Scandal in the Weimar’, intimate guerrilla opera cruises by BK Opera will float along the Maribyrnong River with a series of live music events, ‘The Right Side of the Tracks’, projections and street talks in a Footscray-based residential street, and a much-anticipated performance at the iconic Franco Cozzo furniture store, the festival offers free and ticketed experiences for everyone.
Recently revealed additions to the program include ‘Fridays are Better than Mondays’, a night of art, music, and poetry at the Footscray Community Arts Centre; ‘The Trip To Spain’ Immersive Dining Experience by Copper Pot Seddon which will combine the new release of Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon’s trilogy with curated Spanish food and beverage to match the film’s journey bite by bite; and ‘The Night Circus by Women’s Circus’ which concludes with an adult’s pop-up circus workshop so you can try it for yourself.
The final program showcases the diverse community collaborations from around the city for what promises to be a truly inspiring experience.
