Tanderrum

Each year the first words of Melbourne Festival come from those who have carried this land’s stories the longest—the First Peoples of Melbourne. This year’s Tanderrum will end with a Kulin Nation tribute to the murrup (spirit) of William Barak. Barak was Ngurungeta—a leader, warrior and spokesperson for Wurundjeri Country. For the final dance the Kulin Nation invite you to join them for a song reclaimed from rare historical recordings of Barak.

Get ready for another beautiful event, full on inspiration and a curated selection of beautiful bohemian inspired products! Boho Luxe Market features a beautifully curated line up carefully selected to ensure only the highest quality products are presented with an emphasis on bohemian style.

Victorian Seniors Festival 2017
Sunday 8 October – Tuesday 10 October
Enjoy an event held for our senior citizens who are encouraged to join the celebrations which include an interesting and eclectic range of workshops, concerts, events, games, tours, exhibitions and more.

Mental Health Week Launch
Monday 9 October
Celebrate how Aussie workplaces can contribute positively to mental health and wellbeing of all community members in their working environments. Speakers include; Keith Schleiger and Dr David Gillespie with entertainment from Wild at Heart, Heidi Everett and Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir.

Diwali Indian Festival
Sunday 14 October
Enjoy and experience the traditional and contemporary cultural feast of India through the soul stirring music, the beats of the drums, the theatre and the drama of Indian cinema, breathtaking classical, folk and Bollywood dance performances, dance and craft workshops, Henna painting, Bazaar and the authentic Indian street food.

2017 Unleashed Awards
Thursday 19 October
Help celebrate the initiatives that make a difference to our world and the young people that lead them. Each year, the Foundation for Young Australians recognise and celebrate the genuine impact young people have made to the biggest social and economic challenges of our time.
