Leading hospitality recruiter, TSS Recruitment are looking to fill a Wholesale Butcher Order/Cutter jobs in Australia.

The Butcher is responsible for preparing orders and meat, poultry and meat-based products to wholesale and retail customers. General tasks would include cutting, boning and trimming meat and servicing customers’ orders with an understand of the Aus Meat Language.

The position requires that the Butcher will be able to carry out an active role when dealing with customer orders. This implies a working knowledge of the principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes being able to conduct a customer needs assessment, meeting agreed quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Feedback on orders completion & customer feedback satisfaction.

Job Description:

  • Stocking, replenishing and cleaning wholesale area.
  • Assisting customers with product selection when required.
  • Assisting head butcher by recommending products based on customers feedback.
  • Offering advice to customers if or when required.
  • Arranging delivery for larger items if required.
  • Utilizing specialist product knowledge and understand Aus Meat principals.
  • Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, to ensure meat consistency with purchase and accuracy of delivery weight.
  • Monitoring and updating Wholesale carton areas.
  • Initiating changes to improve the business.
  • Other duties as required.

Specific Duties Required

  • Receiving incoming goods and completing goods received confirmation immediately upon receipt; e.g. checking items or weights match invoice signing off.
  • Monitoring all the chiller areas to ensure all products are meeting agreed standards with respect to use by dates, first in last out rotation, box appearance and packaging is sound.
  • Complete cleaning of wholesale areas each day.
  • Reviewing stock levels in Shop display area and special orders by 7.00am each day to assess ordering or production requirements for the next day;
  • Ensuring all equipment is cleaned at end of Shift.
  • Observing and reporting service and machinery maintenance.
  • Able to complete client orders without product errors and correct and accurate weights.
  • Taking responsibility and ownership of designated duties able to complete butchery jobs in a timely and professional manner without supervision.
