Want a real Wild West adventure? Tours and Travels – Perth to Darwin in 29 Days

In one of the largest and most diverse countries on Earth, it’s almost impossible to know where to start and how long to stay in each location – especially if you’re only travelling for a couple of months and time is of the essence. The main things you need to ask yourself are; How much do I want to see? How much time have I got? And do I want to experience things that I can’t do anywhere else in the world? Answering yes to any of these pondering thoughts will put you in a prime position to book an adventure tour!

For those of you who have either done a stint on Australia’s East Coast on the well-trodden path of many before you – or for those of you who have just arrived in Perth an overland tour is a great way to travel from state to state. Far more exciting than jumping on a JetStar flight, an overland tour will open your eyes to the many wonders of the West Coast when travelling between two of Australia’s most remote cities – Perth and Darwin.

Adelaide to Darwin on The Ghan

The distance between these two cities is 4,041 km – almost the equivalent from London to Delhi – so it should come as no surprise that it’s around 44 hours driving time. But with this mammoth distance in mind, you’ll of course want to split this up by being taken to some of the most jaw-dropping and exciting locations in Australia.

Over 29 days as you make your way across Australia’s North West, you can experience stunning, endless coastlines such as Eighty Mile Beach – as well as the delights of national parks such as Kalbarri and Karijini. Karijini National Park is where you can take a dip in crystal clear swimming holes as well as watching out for native Aussie wildlife such as water monitor lizards, wallaroos and red kangaroos!

Heading into the Kimberley Region you can visit the geological delights of the Bungle Bungles, Echidna Chasm and Cathedral Gorge before making your way to Lake Argyle and heading towards your final destination of Darwin.

To find out how you can see all of the above and even more destinations along the way check out Kimberley Wild Expeditions’ Perth to Darwin (or reverse) tour from $8590.
