Following on from the release of her debut single Shoestring, Dune will be bringing her sonic kaleidoscope of tracks to The Beresford (upstairs) in Sydney on Friday 23 November and The Toff In Town in Melbourne on Saturday 24 November.

Dune will once again be taking punters on an uplifting sonic journey; traversing expansive sonic landscapes, soaring vocals, all driven by textured tribal beats. If Dune’s single launches were anything to go by, you don’t want to miss these shows!
Shoestring is currently available as a free download via soundcloud and is the first track lifted from her forthcoming EP due for release in 2013.

The House deFROST with Andee Frost

Disco is a word that gets thrown around a lot these days. Its the overuse of the word that has leant people no glance at the glorious debauchery it once stood for. Luckily a small band of dancefloor dessi’s are giving meaning back to the much overused & undermined term…. Step into The House de Frost: a weekly Saturday night at The Toff running into the wee hours of Sunday morning, a place where to dance is to live, the home of some of Melbourne’s wildest parties and vogue balls, a place where you can indulge those curiosities you’ve always had but never acknowledged. With hourly shows from 2 of Melbourne’s craziest club kids EMMAN TYRA & XANTHY, guest dancers, performers, Disney on ice stars, you never really know what you’re gonna get… apart from the music that is! The only place you can truly appreciate disco music the was it was made to be heard. The Toff boasts the best sound-system in Melbourne and exclusively plays vinyl and is tuned on a weekly basis by one of Melbourne’s most adroit selectors. They say that backwards is the best way forward, and this is about as backward as you’re gonna get!

Communion ft The Trouble with Templeton, The Hello Morning, Buffalo Tales + Lima Spitz

Having firmly established the Communion ethos of fostering the nation’s brightest new talent, November sees Communion Melbourne open it’s doors for the fifth time to another outstanding lineup of acts.

The Toff in Town is set to welcome in the blues and rock swagger of Melbourne’s The Hello Morning, and the folk and alt country stylings of Buffalo Tales. Thomas Calder and his band formally known as The Trouble With Templeton will complete the evening, along with a special pre-Meredith Festival warm-up performance by an artist we’ll refer to as Lima Spitz for this one time only!

If you’re a purveyor of great new music, don’t miss this show at The Toff In Town on Sunday November 25th. It’s sure to be another splendid evening to remember.

Communion Melbourne features a different lineup each month offering a creative platform for emerging, developing and established artists to perform in an environment that embraces collaboration and mutual support.

The Shelf ft special guests Wil Anderson, Luis & Family and Harley Breen

The Shelf – The only show deranged enough to threaten Santa with a knife.
After four sold out seasons The Shelf returns not only with a new gaggle of gags
but a Christmas show that is going to blow up your picnic hamper.
Rest is not an option when it comes to season 5 of The Shelf as it continues to
showcase some of the best talent in the country alongside some of the finest
up and coming comedians you may have heard whispers about. Over the
course of the first three shows you will see Wil Anderson, Tom Gleeson, Hannah
Gadsby, Cal Wilson, Celia Pacquola and the Moosehead Awards all featuring
with the regular frequent Shelvers: European Man, Tegan Higginbotham, Adam
Rozenbachs and Gatesy.
Then for the final show prepare to have your Christmas sock stuffed and your
reindeer hopped up on poppers as hosts Justin Hamilton and Adam Richard
unleash Paul McDermott, Charlie Pickering and US comedian Graham Elwood
along with Wil, Cal, Celia and the rest of the gang. This is being dubbed a
Christmas show because it will begin on the 3rd of December and hopefully finish
on Christmas night.
Four shows of comedy goodness to get you through the Christmas holidays,
this will be the final opportunity to catch The Shelf before the 2013 Melbourne
International Comedy Festival.
The Shelf is on the 12th, 19th and 26th of November and the Christmas show is on
the 3rd of December. The show begins at 7.30pm sharp and can only be found
at The Toff in Town, 252 Swanston St, Melbourne. Tickets can be purchased

Stiff Drink

It’s good to start the week off with a Stiff Drink. You can now join DJs Roman Wafers, Michael Ozone and Michael Kucyk in the Toff In Town carriages every Monday for your liquor of choice. Each week these resident Stiffs will emerge from their respective holes – Roman Wafers (aka Bell Towers), a powerhouse producer and founder of cult club night Bamboo Musik; Michael Ozone, the industrious muscle behind creative mecca Goodtime Studios and Home Loan Records; and Michael Kucyk, the voice of 3RRRFM radioshow Noise In My Head which has been exploring new territory since 2005.

Pourparlour with special guests Tully on Tully.

‘Pourparlour are a band that strike a delicate balance between subtle and intense, melancholy and exciting and the familiar with the experimental. An incredibly easy band to enjoy but a difficult band to categorise, their live shows are known for getting strong reactions from both the die-hard music enthusiast and the casual listener alike.
