WOMADelaide Festival, 7th – 10th March 2014
WOMADelaide festival will be returning to Adelaide for its 22nd year next month – and with it comes one hell of a line-up!
Spanning over a four day weekend in March, WOMADelaide engrosses all who enter into its uniquely intoxicating World of Music, Arts and Dance (WOMAD – get it?) as guests are submerged into the fantastic atmosphere and awesome line-up that fills out Botanic Park each year.
Welcoming for families and groups of friends, the festival program has a range of activities for all ages to enjoy with the impressive range of workshops and performances taking place over the seven stages. Featuring a KidZone activity area, various street theatre and visual artist performances and a ‘Taste the World’ cooking program – not to mention the fantastic range of both contemporary and traditional musicians that perform throughout the weekend – WOMADelaide definitely knows how to show their guests a good time!
This year, the line-up already boasts a stellar collection of artists from all around the globe, including Neko Case (USA), Femi Kuti (Nigeria), Arrested Development (USA) and Billy Bragg (UK), with award-winning singer/songwriter Lior (Australia) also being the final and most recent act to be added to the talent pool, returning to WOMAD again for the first time since 2007 and completing a not-to-be-missed line-up for 2014.
