Yours And Owls Wollongong Festival Weekender

To celebrate their fifth birthday, Yours and Owls’ Festival Weekender is topping last year’s sellout by expanding the event to three-day arts and music fiesta.
The Festival this October, in Stuart Park, right on North Wollongong beach, will be delivering the largest line-up yet, with some of Australia’s biggest bands playing alongside a handpicked selection of local rising talent. Amongst the confirmed are Canadian heart-throb Bahamas, The Rubens, The Preatures and The Smith Street Band. You can find the rest of the line up here.
Besides the bands, there will be two film screenings: Jazz documentary ‘Keep On Keeping On’ and surfers’ fave ‘Bunyip Dreaming’ with a live performance of the reworked soundtrack.
The third day, which will be dedicated to all age groups, is an initiative aimed to fulfil Yours and Owls’ vision of making art and creativity part of the everyday landscape, for all members of the community.
Event promoter Ben Tilman has announced, “this is by far the biggest all ages event to happen in the Illawarra region for as long as we can remember and we are super excited to be able to put on this event and to see what inspiring ideas it provokes…. along with of course letting the kids get their fair and well deserved share of live music.”
Also on the menu are DJs, mind-blowing art installations, face-melting projections, Foragers’ twilight food market and – of course – a giant birthday cake.
