Bondi Beach
Bondi Beach have beautiful ocean views along with many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. The southern end receives larger waves and is perfect for the experienced surfer. If you want a more peaceful beach experience, you can walk through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or head to laid-back cafes around Hall Street. Each year Bondi hosts diverse festivals and events. ‘Sculpture by the Sea’ takes place on October and November and from January to February ‘Ben and Jerry’s open air cinemas’ screens the best new releases and cult classics on its outdoor movie screen.
Shelly Beach
Shelly Beach is one of the Central Coast’s famous surfing shorelines near The Entrance. The beach also features rock walks which is ideal for exploring. The maximum depth of the beach is around 12 meters. The relatively shallow water depth makes Shelly Beach one of the best beaches in Sydney for scuba divers and snorkelers looking to experience the marine life that inhabits the area.
Palm Beach
Palm Beach is 28 miles north of Sydney, while surfers can enjoy riding the waves at the northern end of the beach, swimmers can relax in the calmer waters at the southern end. You can take the historic ferry from Palm Beach to Ettalong, which is a pretty beach town on Sydney’s central coast. The ferry departs about every hour from Palm Beach Wharf and takes 25 minutes to reach Ettalong, passing between Barrenjoey Headland and Box Head. Palm Beach is best for swimming, sunbathing and surfing.
Gordons Bay
Gordons Bay is situated along the coastal walk between Bondi and Coogee. Gordons Bay is one of Sydney’s most popular snorkeling spots. The walking track offers you great views of the natural surroundings of the area. Some marine life to keep an eye out for include sponges, star fish, sea urchins, cuttlefish, anemones and the blue groper.
Fisherman’s Beach
Fisherman’s Beach is located between Dee Why Beach and Collaroy Beach. Walk up to the highest point of Long Reef headland for breathtaking sea views. Fisherman’s Beach is an ideal location for exploring marine life such as feather stars, sea stars, heart urchins, anemones and sea slugs. Across the street you can find the Long Reef Golf Club with views all the way to the Central Coast in the north. Long Reef Golf Club café is open for lunch every day and on the weekends for breakfast.
Milk Beach
Milk Beach is located at the base of Hermit Bay, in front of the historic Strickland House in Vaucluse, facing the beautiful Sydney Harbor. This secluded beach offers visitors views of some of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks, including the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Tower.
