Don’t Miss The Gum Ball This Weekend in the Hunter Valley, NSW
The Gum Ball is kicking off this weekend, the grandest show of the year, has just announced its full program, including playing times. Alongside the stellar music line-up is a smorgasbord of entertainment.
Friday, April 21st will be headlined by Canadian turntable wizards The Funk Hunters and Saturday night will be headed up by garage rockers The Peep Tempel and legendary genre-benders Regurgitator.
Other acts across the two days include comedy trio Tripod, Kim Churchill, Boo Seeka, Gareth Liddiard of The Drones and The Cat Empire’s Felix Riebl.
There will also be a roster of acts that punters of all ages can enjoy. Comedy duo Kiki and Pascal, a hit at last year’s Gum Ball, will return to present a wild slapstick porch program, full of contortion, acrobatics and singing, with special guests, including acclaimed magician and TV regular Liam Power and anarchic clown Chris Lynam.
Reptiles will slither back with Dr Crunch’s Reptile Show. And there’s sureto be wide-eyed wonder when the Shark in a Bus rolls into Dashville (a travelling shark museum that includes a five-metre great white shark), plus circus troupe Psycus, puppetry acrobatics and free puppet-making workshops with The Screaming Tribe, and a bit of Hoola Hoop action from the La La Sisters. But, most importantly, the Hunter’s favourite llama, Hamish, we’ll be dropping by for a few cans and a yarn…
The Gum Ball will offer the Sunday Wind Down in 2017. An optional night of camping and music. It’ll kick off from 2pm, offering up some further casual musical vibes to those that choose to stick around.
In addition organisers have included a Lifeline Store which will run a special pop-up fancy dress shop, catering for those who forgot to pre-order their outfit for the famed Op Shop Bop pageant.
