Love bass in your face? Love it so much that you can almost reach out and touch it? Well, you probably should clear the dairy then for this coming Easter weekend as Touch Bass will be… erm… touching down. Touch Bass is a new national festival which will hit Australia over the Easter weekend with a focus on all things bass and trap heavy. And they are pulling out the big guns for their first edition.
Headlining the event is the 21-year old Jauz, last seen on the 2016 Listen Out line up, who will be returning to headline arenas in what he calls his ‘favourite market’. Over the course of the past few months the young star have turned in some of the biggest remixes of the year for the likes of Ed Sheeran, Asap Mob and Childish Gambino. Snails is a Montreal-based producer and DJ who pushes a forward-thinking brand of dance music combining trap rhythms, dirty bass lines and off-kilter sound design which he has affectionately dubbed ‘Vomit Step’. Nice. Also on the lineup is Slushii, the 19-year old trap wunderkid who has come from obscurity last year to become one of 2016’s breakthrough artists. And rounding out the lineup is local hero L D R U who is known for his ‘trapical’ stylings and good times.
