What’s on in Sydney New South Wales – Funeral Party
Funeral Party, a 5-piece band, named after a Cure track, was originally part of the underground music scene in Los Angeles. They formed the band in an attempt to escape their hometown and escape the home they did. With their creative fuse of post-punk, dance and notably energetic performances, it didn’t take long for their notoriety to spread further afield than their localized cult following.
Funeral Party toured America and blew up in the UK, have performed on The David Letterman Show and have shared a stage with the likes of Crystal Castles. Funeral Party’s, highly anticipated debut album The Golden Age of Nowhere was released in January this year and after Triple J have been blasting them out over the airwaves, they’ve now come over to Australia to show us what they’re all about.
If you want to experience the manic style of Funeral Party’s live performance then get down to the Metro Theatre on George Street to find out. If you can’t catch them in Sydney, you may be able to see them in Melbourne or Brisbane. But hurry, tickets are selling fast.
