What’s on in Sydney New South Wales – Kaiser Chiefs
I think it fair to say that we’re glad this rowdy bunch has come back out from wherever they were hiding. The Kaiser chiefs first made it big back in 2005 with their now five times platinum album Employment.
Known for their lively rhythms and addictive lyrics, it didn’t take long for nations of unappreciated girlfriends to start whistling the tune of ‘Every Day I Love You Less and Less’ to their boyfriends or for people to burst into ‘Oh my god I can’t believe this, I’ve never been this far away from home the minute they left their front door.
After two further albums, they then went away for quite a few years but we never doubted that frontman extraordinaire Ricky Wilson would be back razzing up crowds all over the world sometime soon.
They have let their fans interact in the production of their latest album ‘The Future is Medieval’ by letting them stream samples of 20 different tracks off their website and then choosing 10 tracks to have on their personally sequenced album. Hopefully, more bands will now follow in their footsteps because there is nothing more annoying than having one bad track to just kill an entire album.
The new material is somewhat darker and a lot less bouncy than the earlier stuff but if you want to judge it for yourself then get down to the Enmore Theatre this Saturday to find out. Taxi drivers in Newtown are sure to get hoards of drunkards singing “Na na na na naa” on their way home.
