What’s on in Sydney New South Wales – Motion Night Motion is a 1970’s disco and Northern Soul night being held on 9 October (8 pm – 2.30 am) at the Hollywood Hotel in Surry Hills.

The first Motion night on 17 July saw 200 punters busting their disco moves with hands in the air abandon, leaving their everyday cares behind and losing it to long-lost tunes of the day. 

Motion has a vinyl-only policy, recognizing the effort the DJs have gone to in collecting the greatest sounds from the 1970’s disco and northern soul eras. DJs playing Northern Soul early on, with a disco to finish. DJs are Northern Soul Poster Boy, Burn-Hard, Dave Fernandes (HAHA) and Dean Dixon (HAHA).

The Hollywood Hotel is at 2 Foster Street Surry Hills. The cover charge is a very retro $5. And it’s a pub so the drinks are reasonably priced too
