What’s on in Sydney New South Wales – Movement

Movement is Beach Road Bondi’s home of Electronica, future Indie Disco, Hip Hop and forward thinking Beats. Presented every Friday night by Niche Productions, the team behind recent shows by Onra, Big Boi and Gaslamp Killer, Movement has been steadily working its way up from cool DJ night to
budding live weekly and in Summer, looks set to take over as the premier free-room live music night in Sydney for lovers of music with a beat.

Already nabbing a ‘best free club night’ spot in Time Out Magazine, Movement’s Summer bill is brimming with some of the coolest acts over a great variety of genres. In December, Disco dons Flatwound present their new extended live lineup, followed by international Soul man Andy Bull. Elsewhere, former Melodics frontman Grey Ghost presents his new solo
project all the way live from Melbourne then Telafonica and a special surprise guest prep the action right before New Years Eve.

In January, after a warmup from the Movement All-star DJs, Brisbanites and current triple j darlings Gung Ho make the trip down south, then it’s up to Melbourne disco fiends The Vaudeville Smash and recent Future Classic releasers Convaire to maintain the rage.

February sees Sydney’s Future Beat ambassadors The Frequency Lounge take over a night at the Beach Road, showcasing three cutting edge producers led by Monky Fly and his bone crushing beats! Polo Club make the trip up from Melbourne ahead of their new material release and finally, Bon Chat Bon Rat present their new live show with live drums after supporting
Apparat and getting a few very cool releases out there. Also on the bill and helping round out February are your next favourite band Cadillac.
