What’s on in Sydney New South Wales – Uber Lingua
Global bass & post planetary beats specialists Uber Lingua return… on one of Sydney’s best sound systems
Set to be an all-night, non-stop global collision of DJs, VJs, instrumentalists, dancers & multi-lingual MCs…
Since 2005 the Sydney Uber Lingua mob has combined to throw some of the most culturally intense outcomes. Included in its history are four years at the Abercrombie Hotel, promoting over 30 events at that venue before it closed down. Audio-visual mega productions at Sydney Festival’s ‘Festival First Night’ [2008, 2009, 2010] alongside multiple other outcomes, have forged a connection with the inhabitants of this city.
Uber Lingua is renowned for creating border-less parties that hybridize the many sounds, cultures and languages of this land, simultaneously pulling in fresh productions from motherland networks to create something wild. Previously, many a Sydney punter has woken up not knowing exactly what happened the night before, but knowing it was good, and feeling subconsciously updated on the world’s street sounds.
On August 20th, TONE becomes the new monthly home of Uber Lingua.
Pulling upon continuous flow ‘warehouse meltdown’ experiments enacted in Melbourne over the past 18 months, non-stop collisions will be trigged at TONE involving all of the above. A recent call-out has freshened up the pool of talent. They’ll be no standing around to watch a band, everyone will be kept on their toes… Global Bass stylee!
When: Saturday 20th August, 9 pm – 5 am
Where: Tone, 16 Wentworth Avenue, Surry Hills
