What’s on in Sydney New South Wales – WAFA and DOCTOR WEREWOLF
Chinese Laundry invites you to be battered by the bass and shredded by the synths supplied by two of Bass music’s most dangerous players-WAFA and DOCTOR WEREWOLF!
Originally hailing from Norwich, reborn in a dingy studio in West London, WAFA plays drums in the dark hours and makes wonky bangers for kids to dance to. Having first met Sinden when they both DJ’d at Basement Jaxx’s Inside Out parties in Brixton, WAFA was almost instantly snatched up and asked to release his first EP ‘Ewid Disco’ in June 2010. Best described by Sinden as “some kind of bastard italo track with crazy Super Mario Brothers bass lines”, ‘Ewid Disco’ has been blasted by some of Bass music’s biggest names, having been picked up by Crookers for their Mixmag Covermount CD and hammered by Brodinski, Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw, Toddla T, and Erol Alkan.
Since the release of “Ewid Disco” WAFA has been busy working on more productions, remixes and DJing at some of the biggest clubs including Stealth, Killer Kitch, the KoolKids parties and Jamm, with a second 4 track EP from Grizzy also due in the spring. WAFA has also been busy collaborating with Drop the Lime, Wolfie, RITON and Sinden plus working as a mixdown engineer for Toddla T. Sinden, Joe & Will and Gang Colours. Plus he still does the night job playing drums for Australian uber dance band Pnau and recording for Simon Ratcliffe’s (Basement Jaxx) new solo project, as well as making his way to Chinese Laundry to rattle skulls this November 25th!
Playing alongside WAFA and ready to maul your Mrs with their beastly beats is Doctor Werewolf, whose ability to whip any crowd into a frenzy has been proven time and time again at some of the biggest clubs and festivals in the country, including Good Vibes, Foreshore, Parklife, Warehouse, Arthouse, Academy, Brown Alley and of course the Werewolf’s favourite haunt-Chinese Laundry!
Doctor Werewolf are no strangers to the stage, and when billed with heavyweights like Rusko, Bassnectar, Cookie Monsta, Sub Focus, Chase & Status, Nero, Skism, Bar 9, Doctor P (to name drop just a few), the duo not only hold their own but underpants will be thrown… sweat will be dripping… drinks will be spilling… and your girlfriend will most probably be friends with Adam on Facebook the next day…
