Wide Open Space Festival
Head to Wide Open Space for Australia’s most centred family-friendly festival
Venture into the heart of Australia as Wide Open Space returns after its year-long hiatus in May 2020. This will be eleventh edition of the unique festival set in the East MacDonnell Ranges of Central Australia and to understand it you really need to experience it for yourself. The setting is all important with the festival nestled in the ranges in a region known for its wonder, ancient stories, otherworldly sounds and sights as well as amazing characters.
The family-friendly festival is renowned for its safe space with a line-up that boasts up and coming Australian artists and will run from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd May 2020 at the Ross River Resort. Comfort is key and the resort offers a playground with cabins, showers, shady Red River Gums, a well-stocked bar and even a themed pool party to keep the family entertained between acts. Based only a short drive from Alice Springs, its location also means that this is a great spot to explore outback Central Australia including Uluru, Kata Tjuta and the sculpted cliffs of Kings Canyon.
Wide Open Space promises to feed your mind and body through a fine music and arts program as well as workshops, a dedicated kids space and a Market Place stocked with food and crafts. The site itself will contain programmed stages as well as spontaneous events across The WIDE Stage, The Dome Stage and The Red Room. In a festival filled with wonder you’ll find immersive mini-spaces, mobile sound systems, focused workshops and even interactive installations. If you’re looking to explore the heartland of Australia and take in its creative wonder then experience Wide Open Space for an unforgettable three days.
