Join Backpacker outback tours on an amazing adventure from Perth to Exmouth tour across Australia’s most impressive landscapes. Explore the Pinnacles, Kalbarri National Park, Shark Bay, Ningaloo World Heritage areas, Monkey Mia Dolphins, Exmouth, Cape Range National Park and more!
With nearly twice the duration of similar tours, you don’t need to stress about early starts and spending all of your time stuck in a bus. We take a chilled out approach to travelling and aim to spend as much time as possible enjoying the amazing beaches and scenery this vast coastline has to offer.
Day 1: Perth to Kalbarri
Start your adventure in vast white sand dunes of Lancelin, show off your sandboarding skills before we venture to the Pinnacles Desert. Head to the pristine sea to enjoy a nice lunch then journey up Indian Ocean Drive for some stunning coastal views. Stop in Geraldton before travelling to the seaside town of Kalbarri for your overnight accommodation.
Day 2: Kalbarri National Park to Shark Bay/Denham
Be mesmerized by The Murchison Gorge, Nature’s Window and Z-Bend in Kalbarri National Park where water has carved its way through sandstone. Have a go at abseiling and take a wander to witness vivid colours of the wildflower season. Nature’s Window is an ideal photo opportunity to be had before strolling a beach made entirely of tiny shells.
Explore Darwin, Northern Territory
Day 3: Shark Bay to Coral Bay
Now it’s onto Monkey Mia, where you will be the renowned Dolphins and get some incredible photos. Spend some time relaxing on the beach here or enjoy a coffee at the restaurant before we get back on the road mid-morning. We’ll explore the spectacular rock formations, the Stromatolites, before settling into our accommodation in Coral Bay, located right on the famous Ningaloo Reef.
Day 4: Coral Bay
Spend most of today exploring the Ningaloo Reef at your own leisure. Have the opportunity to join a boat tour or have some free time to experience the beautiful beaches Coral Bay has to offer. Take in the beautiful beach and check out the shark nursery, swim with the manta rays or go for a snorkel on the Ningaloo Reef only metres from shore.

Day 5: Exmouth
Enjoy a final day at the Cape Range National park, an almost surreal place of rugged limestone ranges, breathtaking deep canyons and 50km of pristine beaches. Chill out on the beach or choose to go snorkelling at the stunning Turquoise Bay, visit Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, relax at Milyering Visitors Center and more before finishing the tour destination, at Exmouth.
