Perth to Rottnest Island tour 4 days

Rottnest Island’s beautiful beaches and wildlife reserves are located just off the coast of Perth. Take the ferry to Rottnest Island and explore all of the wonders of this car-free island. Visit Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, and Cathedral Rocks; take a train ride up to the Oliver Hill WWII site, and keep an eye out for the island’s native quokkas.

Explore all of the bays, take a ride to Wadjemup Lighthouse (the highest point on the island), or sprint out to West End – the options are infinite! Cycling is one of the greatest ways to appreciate the grandeur of Rottnest Island, with over 22km of road, 63 distinct bays and beaches, 2 lighthouses, and magnificent scenery.

Getting to “Rotto”

“Rotto” is just 8 km off the coast of Western Australia. It is a 45-minute ride from the Hilary Boat Harbor, 25 minutes by ferry from Fremantle, and 90 minutes by ferry from Barrack Street Jetty.

Relax and have fun in the beaches

Rottnest is an ideal place for watersports that include surfing, diving, fishing, swimming, and snorkeling. Rottnest has 63 beaches and kids can have fun in the Just 4 fun Aquapark which is located in Thomason bay which also has rock climbing walls, inflatable floating rides, obstacle courses, and paddle boats that can be hired. Watch the giants in action

The island is the ideal place to watch southern right whales and humpback whales as they make their annual migration along to coast of Western Australia. One of the best places for whale watching is the West End Boardwalk which can be accessed by the Island Explorer bus or a bike.

Quokka, the happiest animal in the world

Rottnest is the home of the most photogenic and cutest animal in the world, known as the quokka. These small animal are found in abundance on the island. They do not fear humans and may come up to a visitor.
