Comprising of both urban and rural landscapes, Sunshine Coast is a peri-urban city. It is ranked third among the most populated cities in the state of Queensland and ninth in the entire country with a population of about 0.3 million. Situated on the Pacific Ocean coastline about 100 km north of Brisbane, Sunshine Coast comprises of an area of 1633 km2 including 60 km of coastline. The Sunshine Coast is the ideal place for an action-packed holiday or quiet escape at any time of the year.

The Sunshine Coast Climate

With about 300 days of sunshine per year on average, Sunshine Coast consists of a sub-tropical climate. In the Summer (December – February), the average temperature ranges from about 20° C to 29° C. Although the humidity is high in summer, it is negated by the cool breeze of the sea. Both the autumn (March-May) and spring (September – November) are cooler than summer with an average temperature ranging from about 17° C to 25° C. Winter is considerably cooler with an average temperature varying between 12° C and 22° C.

This 4 km2 zoo is home to more than 1200 animals. It allows the once in a lifetime experience of getting up close and personal with koalas, wombats, snakes as well as kangaroos.
