What Is Rural Nursing?
Rural nurses, or registered nurses working in rural regions, are healthcare providers that provide nursing services to small populations in remote and sparsely populated locations. Some of the places these nurses may find themselves working are outlying hospitals, clinics, community health centres, and even patients’ homes. Providing all-encompassing healthcare to people in rural areas who may not have easy access to larger hospitals or specialists is the main goal of rural nursing.
Roles and responsibilities
Because of the scarcity of resources in rural areas, a rural nurse must juggle several different tasks. Nurses working in rural areas, in contrast to their urban colleagues, should be well-rounded and competent to treat patients of all ages, regardless of their medical speciality.
