The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is being held from March 27th to April 21st, 2019 in Melbourne, Australia.  The Festival welcomes back a host of old favorites and fresh debutantes from the UK and Ireland.  Here are some of the must-see British and Irish comedians at the festival;

Simon Amstell

Simon Amstell is popular as the former TV host of UK comedy panel show “Never Mind the Buzzocks”.  He is also a screenwriter, director and actor. Just after his second movie, “Benjamin”, the multi-award winning English comedian returns to stage to entertain at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for a limited season from April 9th to April 21st.

Fern Brady

Fern Brady is a Scottish stand-up comedian and writer.  She made her mark in a hit 2018 comedy festival debut. She has appearances on “The Russell Howard Hour”, “Live at the Apollo”, and her own Live from the BBC episode to her name.  Brady entertains at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from March 28th to April 21st.

James Acaster

James Acaster is a five-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee and was short-listed for Best Show at the UK’s Chortle Awards last year.  The masterful James Acaster entertains at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from April 9th to 21st.

Eleanor Tiernan

Eleanor Tiernan is an Irish comedian famous among Irish audiences for her live stand-up performances and her work in TV, theatre and on radio.  She is an actress and writer known for Irish Pictorial Weekly (2012), Bridget & Eamon (2016) and Trial of the Century (2016). The delightful Eleanor Tiernan entertains at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from March 28th to April 21st.

Timothy Mark (Tim) Vine

Tim Vine is an English writer, actor, comedian and presenter, famous for his one-liner jokes.  He is one of the world’s sharpest “punny” men, who once landed a Guinness World Record for the most number of jokes told in an hour, a total of 499.  He has released a number of DVDs of his comedy and has written several joke books. Tim Vine entertains at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from March 28th to April 21st.
