The Piknic Électronik Melbourne NYD Spécial is going to be one helluva pre season party! Located in the heart of the city, tucked away behind the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, this is the only New Year’s Day event you need to attend. Round up your squad and the start of the new year with a great day out in the sun, dancing to the following exceptional lineup.

There is no better way to ring in the first day of 2018 than with an artist that evokes the spirit of dance floor fun. Canada’s Tiga, known for delivering bangers such as ‘Lets Go Dancing’, ‘Woke’ and ‘Bugatti’ will be returning to Melbourne for the first time since 2015.

There’s tension at the heart of Tiga’s musical soul. On the one hand he’s the underground techno don, the producer who made ‘Mind Dimension’ (2008) and, together with Audion, the pounding ‘Let’s Go Dancing’ (2013). On the other, there’s the pop sensibility that led him to record electro versions of Corey Hart’s 1984 hit ‘Sunglasses At Night’ (2001) and Nelly’s ‘Hot In Herre’ (2003). It’s this duality that makes him one of electronic music’s most engaging characters. He’s about as far away from your faceless techno DJ from central casting as it’s possible to get.

Tiga will be joined by UK party duo Solardo​ who continue to be an unstoppable force in the tech-house movement. Crowned ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ at the DJAwards, Solardo return to Melbourne after sell out shows across the country on their debut tour in 2017. Their huge tunes,many of them Beatport topping, evoke a sense of frivolity and fun. A perfect recipe to encourage everyone to get down and boogie on New Year’s Day.

German DJ/producer Marek​ ​Hemmann,​ ​a regular behind the decks at some of Berlin’s best clubs will also be bringing his “Groovy House, minimalist Techno, sonic sensitivity and unbridled joy in melody” to the celebratory dancefloor!

On the local front – Made​ ​in​ ​Paris​, Acid​ ​Jacks​ ​(303%​ ​live​ ​set)​ and DJ​ ​Kiti​ w​ ill round out the day with their own unique musical vibes… the perfect soundtrack to the start of your new year.

Food Trucks to sustain you on the dancefloor will be Fancy​ ​Hanks​, Poke​ ​King​ and 196​ ​Below Artisan​ ​Nitro​ ​Ice​ ​Cream.
