Turning the volume up to “11” and inviting all amateur guitarists to showcase their signature “face-melting”, contestants will battle each other in a series of judged elimination rounds with two finalists selected for a soul-saving face-off with the Devil himself. The Grand Prize winner will receive:

Fresh from their opening act slots for Alice Cooper at St. Kilda’s Palais in September, Sydney rockers Syndicate will perform as the DEMON ROCK OFF backup band under the moniker “Syn”, alongside an esteemed lineup of professional musicians, music journalists, and industry VIPS that will make up the “Devil’s Jury” judging panel of 6 including:

Joe Matera
Solo instrumental artist and veteran Australian rock guitarist with countless original and cover outfits including former lead guitarist for rock band Geisha. A respected music journalist who has interviewed the who’s who of music with features in Guitar World (US), Ultimate-Guitar.com, Australian Guitar, and Performing Musician (UK). Official solo single release “Face Off” is available now on iTunes with the new EP “Slave to the Fingers” to be released later this year.

Peter Hodgson
Guitarist and music journalist, founder and editor of I Heart Guitar blog, writer for Mixdown, Guitarworld.com, Gibson.com, Australia Guitar, Australian Musician Magazine and The Brag. Dubbed “Melbourne’s Best Shredder” by Triple M in 2004.

Leah Gallin
Marketing Manager for the Gallin’s Guitar Musician’s Pro Shop chain of retailers across Australia and Australian Musical Imports – distributors of the Gibson family of brands. Founder of The SoundLab, a state-of-the-art music tutorial studio in Melbourne.

Dylan Boyes aka Dylan The Villian
Lead guitarist for Melbourne psychobilly pioneers, The Fireballs. A 17-year playing career to date including pivotal roles in bands Sinshifters and The Shine. The Fireballs will be heading offshore in December to play Holland’s Speedfest, the international music festival showcasing the best in speed rock & roll, metal and hardcore.

Mark Spillane
Artist Manager for the Ardline Media Group Sydney, specializing in artist development, producer representation, music supervision for film and television, major entertainment events, and consultancy, including a personal 15-year career as a songwriter and recording artist.

Kris Petersen
Lead guitarist for NSW rockers Syndicate and a 15 year veteran of the Australian music scene touring nationally and internationally with numerous original, concept and cover bands performing to crowds of 10,000 plus fans in multiple countries. Syndicate’s eponymous debut album was released in July this year and the band is currently opening for Alice Cooper in Australia.

The Devil aka Satan aka Lucifer aka Beelzebub
Fresh off his American tour with Justin Bieber, The Devil himself has secured a 457a business visa to visit Melbourne for his featured role in the Demon Rock Off. The Devil has an impressive record in the music business having worked with such phenomenally successful worldwide recording artists as Kylie Minogue, Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, Ashlee Simpson, Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5, and the Jonas Brothers to name just a few. He is currently working on solo project with Lars Ulrich of Metallica.
