What’s on in Melbourne Victoria – Melbourne Music Week
Melbourne Music Week will be kicking off once more, from the 18th – 26th November.
Melbourne has long been hailed as the creative capital of Australia, with budding artists and musicians heading there in their droves. Not only is Melbourne culturally diverse, but it’s also jam-packed full of venues and was recently voted the best city in the world to live in by The Economist.
Can you think of anywhere better to have a week full of music? I don’t think so.
There will be no less than 170 acts over the 9-day festival in over 40 different locations around the city. Acts include Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts, DJ Krush, Electric Smile Band, Canyons, The Gaslamp Killer and Primitive Calculators.
As well as the bands we all know and love, Melbourne Music Week will be providing a platform for emerging young musicians and bands to stand on by giving them the chance to record at a recording studio. Their music will be mixed, mastered, pressed and packaged to be a free, limited-edition CD to be launched just 24 hours later.
Keep your eyes peeled as the full programme will be announced on Wednesday 19th October.
