What’s on in Melbourne Victoria – Tim Burton Movies Last week, Tim Burton’s Batman screened inside the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. The Burton film retrospective continues this week with more Batman, and one of his most popular children’s films.
Batman Returns sees Burton take Batman to the extreme, creating a dream-like atmosphere with the arrival of Danny DeVito’s Penguin and Michelle Pfieffer’s iconic Catwoman.

The Nightmare Before Elm Street features ghoulish imagery and a grim tone could be the most obvious example of Burton’s style and how it can be adapted to Children’s films.
